On-prem
Time Sense on your own servers
Install the same Time Sense in your own data centre, under a licence signed for your server and checked by it.
A licence bound to your server
Your server generates a key from its own identity, and the licence issued for that key only works there.
- The server key combines an install id with the machine and database identity, and holds no secret.
- The licence is signed and carries your tier, add-ons and seats.
- Seats and features come only from the verified licence.
Warnings, then grace, never a sudden stop
Time Sense warns ahead of the licence end date, allows a grace period, and only then turns read-only.
- Warnings start 30 days before the end date, followed by 14 grace days.
- Read-only still allows sign-in, viewing data, entering a new licence and device punches.
- Your own administrator sees the licence and enters a new key from the My Licence page.
Built to resist tampering
Changing the database or winding back the clock gains nothing.
- Editing tier, features, seats or expiry in the database changes nothing.
- A guard marks the licence as tampered if the server clock is wound back.
- The signing key stays with Time Sense and never ships with the software.
Nobody outside holds the keys
On your own servers there is no outside platform account, so only your administrators manage your organisation.
- No platform administrator role exists on an on-prem installation.
- Your administrators manage users, roles and the licence themselves.
At home on your network
Time Sense runs inside your network rules, from outbound calls to the devices on your walls.
- Every outbound call goes through the proxy you configure.
- Kiosks honour your site proxy and a certificate authority you provide.
- Biometric devices push punches straight to your own server.
